Gameday Preview Charlotte Bobcats at Milwaukee Bucks
Pump Up Music: Edvard Grieg -- "In the Hall of the Mountain King"
The Big Picture: The Milwaukee Bucks made their own moves this trading deadline in hopes of reaching the playoffs, picking up John Salmons in exchange for Hakeem Warrick and RoF patron saint of untapped potential Joe Alexander. It remains to be seen if trading away a super athletic power forward who causes all kinds of matchup problems for opponents off the bench in exchange for a conventional wing shooter will make Milwaukee a more viable playoff contender, but because either way they're just supporting Andrew Bogut and Brandon Jennings anyway, and the team's flow won't change much, it could all be deck chairs.
Key to Victory: Theo Ratliff made a great first impression against Shaquille O'Neal and the Cavaliers last night. We know Nazr Mohammed is no great shakes on defense, and Ratliff is there specifically to play defense and not totally embarrass himself on offense. A Bizarro Nazr, if you will. Let's see what he can do against Bogut, who many people seem to have forgotten about after his injury early in the season.
Detail That May Interest .08% of You: Guess who's on the Bucks now? That's right: Primoz Brezec!

I don't expect
the Bucks to have the shooting woes that they did last time, BUT I do expect it to be harder for Brandon Jennings to drive to the basket without Taz or Theo rejecting the crap out of him. I would love to have the Cats shooting as well as they did last night happen all the time, but we all know that isn’t true. This game will be won in the trenches. We need to out rebound them and make Jennings play to our game. We’ve been forcing a LOT of 24 second violations lately even in our losses, so we need to keep it up. Hopefully John Salmons will have the opposite effect he did last night in their win. The good thing is with the new lineup(especially when Naz and Chandler get healthy) we will be able to give Jack and Gerald a little more of a rest. While they both played 39 and 41 minutes respectively, they got more frequent breaks than in the past. I don’t know that we’ll see as much of Dj tonight as he cannot defend Brandon Jennings like Raymond can. Also, Jennings went 1-13 from the floor last night. Don’t expect that trend to continue but if it does…awesome.

It'll be interesting to see how the B-Cats play a mediocre team.

Jennings and Salmons have a history of lighting up the Cats
Charlotte needs to make sure that doesn’t happen. The Bucks’ front court doesn’t put any fear in my heart. This is a game Charlotte should win. Hopefully, the Cats with finish the season playing well on a consistent basis.

They might not scare you...
But Bogut has consistently played well against the Bobcats in his career.

Wouldn't go that far.
It’s a road game on a back-to-back against a mediocre team.
Jennings is talented and could get hot and bury us, but with his recent play it’s unlikely.
I’d say important, since it is a rival for a playoff spot, but if we don’t win, it’s not that big of a deal. As long as we stay competitive, I’ll chalk it up as a decent game, win or lose.
I disagree that Salmons is only there to support Jennings.
I think Skiles would hope that Salmons helps Jennings change his mentality and learn to share the offensive load.
