The Paul Silas Era: How long will it last?

It may be a little early to even be talking about this, but on RoF speculation is sometimes the norm. There was plenty of trade talk over the summer; keeping us on the edge of our seats and drooling over the idea of Chris Paul wearing the Bobcats pinstripes. Maybe it would be Jose Calderon, or maybe Devin Harris?

Then came the season with plenty of question marks. Questions like "How would DJ fair in his new role of starting PG?" "Who on earth is going to play center for us?" "When Sherron Collins goes bowling, does he use himself as the ball?" and so on. As we got settled into the season, some of those were answered, some weren't, and even more new questions arose. We now know that DJ is capable of being a starting PG, our makeshift centers have been serviceable, although we still don't know who the long-term solution is there, if he's even on the roster. More trade talk centered around the Nets getting Carmelo Anthony, and sending us Devin Harris in multi-team deal. After all was said and done, we ended up with the same roster that we started the season with. It still remains to be seen what will happen in the future, but it looks as though we are going to sit tight for a while.

The one change after an offseason + 28 games of uncertainty and question marks came from the most unexpected place; Michael Jordan fired the future Hall of Famer, Larry Brown(technically he stepped down, but lets be real here...). In comes Paul Silas, who promises to up the tempo on offense(which through one game he has delivered on that promise), and ignite a fire under the a$$es of the Charlotte Bobcats. In his first game as coach, we had a stretch  that as Bobcats fans we may have never seen before, not even last year when we ended up in the playoffs. We were running on all cylinders and looked to be ready to hand out a beat down to the Pistons. Although it didn't turn out that way, there were still very promising signs of a new life given to our team.

Questions still remain about the make-up of our roster and our team, but one sticks out in my mind the most....WHAT IF Paul Silas is the answer for THESE Charlotte Bobcats? Is it possible for us to win 30+ more games this year, make the playoffs, and maybe get our first playoff win ever? If it is...

Is Paul Silas the answer for THESE Bobcats?
