That ad is brilliant

Hi my name is LeBron James,

Rather than rising above the criticism and adversity by playing basketball. I’ve decided it would be much more pertinent to make a self serving commercial about how I intend to rise above the criticism and adversity.

In this way I hope people will understand it took a million dollar ad campaign and a team of writers to say what I couldn’t… that I don’t really care what you think and I’m going to be who I want to be.

Sincerely, LeBron.
-————————————————————————————————

Brilliantly constructed ad, I agree… but at what point does he need to just shut up and play? The Twitter account where he praises the people who love him and chides those who dislike him, the ‘decision’, the words… words, words, words, words.

I think he just needs to shut up and play already. If people really need ‘closure’ on this whole drama, fine… but I don’t really see what this ad told us that we don’t already know? He doesn’t care what people think of him, nor should he.

agreed 100%

Really the ad just goes further in showing me how egotistical he is and how much further from MJ or the greats he really is (at least maturity wise)

Yes, MJ was cocky, but after he had a ring(s).. Lebron really just needs to shut up and ball. If you don’t care what the public thinks (actually the people who allow him to play the game for a living) then don’t say anything. Stop being an egotistical bastard. It’s old and is has been for years.

Remember when he didn’t shake the Magic players’ hands when he lost? Tried to make excuses (happens all the time etc)? Yeah, he hasn’t changed.

I like it. Very well done.

That donut looked very tasty.

Meet the new quarterback. Same as the old quarterback. Go get 'em, Matty Twice!

This made me sick

He goes on the radio and tells everyone they need to “get over it”, it being his move. And yet he makes a commercial like this? He needs to stop talking and just play. This is getting old.

He is trying to make it seem like everyone is against him

He still has more supporters than anyone outside Kobe and Yao (Asia is pretty big haha), but only the smart, knowledgeable, and the purist basketball fans hate him and his ego

"Should I be who you want me to be?"

Well, we are the reason you have millions of dollars..

Lebron James has more basketball Talent than anyone that has ever lived. That said his Ego outweighs his Game. This ad is more of the same, self serving blabber. The fact that he made this ad shows that he does care what everyone thinks of him, He needs to be loved by the media/fans.

This is the route Nike took that their marketing agency said would make the most money.

He’s under contract which means, as Pat Riley would likely put it, “you’re my bitch now.”
The ad itself, as others have said, is brilliant. But not because of the irony or “in yer face” attitude of it.
It’s brilliant because it’s constructed in such a way that they can do anything with it. It can play full length in a 3-ad block (1:32) or a 2-ad block (1:00) etc. In short, they can chop it up however they wish depending on their spend and people will still get the “joke.”

Should he be what I want him to be? I want him to be an adult.
Y’all let me know when he gets there.

My sources can beat up your sources

Good commercial but.....

I love the Nike puppet commercial where Kobe is looking for his rings and says to Lebron " Hey have you seen my rings I cant find them, oh nevermind you wouldnt even know what they look like"……
Truer words have never been spoken and I dont believe LeBron will win any rings anytime soon……
