AW HELLLL!!!!!

Anyone watching ESPN2?

 Bobcats are getting MAD PROPS!!!!

Jalen Rose called us 5th best in the East

MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR props to Gerald Wallace

Major props to Stephen Jackson and Raymond Felton as well.  They basically said we have wings to give 40 to 60 pts every night

ANd we now have an offense to help our tough defense

Been talking about them for at least 5 minutes now

I'm just blown away

Someone else tell me that they were watching.  We got national discussion and we're making noise.

Come on guys!

Tell me you saw that...just went off.

not the first time

Jalen also said this after we beat the cavs at home back in November

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

But don't you think that it carries more merrit now?

I heard more than once tonight where they said that there is no way that Gerald should not be at that All Star game

Oh for sure

now that we have some real road wins under our belt, it seems that this praise has more merit. They finally said he should be an all-star? Bout time.

LOL...

I know I’m a fake fan and all, but I’m not sure 3-14 now suddenly screams legit.

Who said that record was legit? No one

I said the praise has more merit than before after the Nov. Cavs game. Before, we hadn’t even won an away game and now the cats have beaten the Heat and the Cavs on the road.In related news, I really like how you twist words.

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

YES IT FREAKIN DOES

--Gerald Wallace is the best player the Bobcats will have..... EVER
--Someone should slap Larry Brown and bring him back to reality..

by raysfan81 on Jan 11, 2010 6:23 PM EST up reply actions

I like Jalen

He also said Gerald Wallace is a guaranteed all-star and he wouldn’t go to any all-star game parties if Wallace doesn’t make the team, haha. But then he said six forwards should be on the team in the East: LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Chris Bosh, David Lee, and Gerald Wallace. This scares me a little bit because he didn’t even mention Josh Smith, Luol Deng, Rashard Lewis, or Antawn Jamison, among others.

Anyway, it was on NBA Coast to Coast which is on ESPN2 Tuesday nights for a couple hours, 8-11, I think. There’s some pretty good analysis, some banter, and consistent “look-ins” at live games if you’re a basketball guy and don’t have League Pass.

Another reason allstars are a joke

Zach Randolph-20.4 ppg, 11.5 rpg, shooting above 50%fg and 84%ft.
Hes not even on the friggin ballot and his team is above .500 at 17 and 16. His numbers along with Wallaces numbers are better than most the people that will make the allstar team.

by MR. MANN on Jan 6, 2010 3:08 PM EST up reply actions

If it's such a joke...

Why do we care if a Bobcat makes it or not? As for Randolph, his numbers aren’t much different than they have been for the past several years. Has he been an All-Star then?

We're saying the All Star voting is a joke

The all star game is still a serious milestone and benchmark for any career. I care because I want to see the first Bobcats all star and I want him to be Gerald Wallace.

When T-Mac and AI are starters this year...

and they haven’t played enough…

It is a popularity contest…not All Stars…

I think the coaches should pick the starting 6 and then votes determine the rest.

You need to keep this thread open, so that a month from now you can change the title to "AW HELLLL NAW"...

when Jalen Rose is taking a dump on us after we lose to the Grizzlies.

Yep, that's a quote alright.

Anatomically questionable, but a quote nonetheless.

hey, where'd he go?

I had noticed a dearth of Burger King logos in recent threads (and oddly enough a general improvement in regard to overall civility in this forum over the same period.) Was this the last appearance of the aforementioned— note the spelling— avatar? Did this exchange really drive him off? (I wouldn’t have thought such a thing possible.) If so, my congratulations to all involved. It’s great to be alive and it’s great to be a Bobcats fan! Party on!

Actually

There was a major roast on him in another post. We all apologised…but my guess is since he’s in school to be a lawyer…he may be too busy to post right now.

That, or, as usual, he’s not posting while the Cats are doing good

by andrewlail76 on Jan 20, 2010 7:09 PM EST reply actions

Who knows.

I was one of the main people that unloaded on him that night and also one of the first to apologize. It bothered me a lot even before David jumped in and blew the whistle. It didn’t bug me that we toasted the dude, it was more that he wasn’t there to give back some of what he was getting. If y’all ever decide to throw me on the grill I’d appreciate it if y’all did it while I’m present. That way I can join in and laugh about it or get just as ugly if it turns out to be mean-spirited instead of just screwing around. From my side of the keyboard that night is was just good old snappin’ or what we used to call the “dozens” when I was a kid. Nothing truly nasty was meant. But it’s a lot harder to tell the difference when you’re just reading it after the fact than it is when you can actually see people’s faces. I think it “read” a lot nastier than any of us really meant it and David was right to step in when he did.

But Michael’s always had a pretty thick skin. He may have just gotten really busy or really bored. He is a student and a lot of professors hit hard right after the Christmas break to get everyone back into the grind. My guess is he’ll be back and although I may be in the minority, I hope it’s sooner rather than later. He does know quite a bit about the game and it will be interesting to see what he has to say now that this team is proving many of his predictions to be wrong. I’d like to hear what he thinks the reasons are for the recent tear the Cats have been on.

It’s just as likely that he’s lurking. I for one don’t miss the heated arguments he had a tendency to get involved in, but he also made some pretty good observations and forced those that disagreed with him to back up their comments with research.

Talking Chop

Nahhhh, he’s been quite active posting on the Atlanta Braves site. Like all day, compulsively. (I suppose the Braves in off-season are far more engrossing than the Bobcats’ continuing unfolding string of greatest moments in team history.)

I was curious as to who is this guy who’s so effectively pissed everyone off and first google hit was his facebook page. I’d venture that the imperious tagline about a “law professor” which might lead the casual viewer to react “oh, I see, he’s a lawyer or will be one soon, that explains the attitude and of course testifies to his intellectual stature— obviously a man rightfully entitled to consider the proletariat to be comprised of asses…” in actuality refers to some adjunct covering an undergraduate night b-law class or something. A kid who graduated high school in ‘05, gets an AA at Guilford, (quick! call the Rhodes Scholars committee! I don’t care what time it is at Oxford!) and hopes to finish Catwaba in ‘10 as a “pre-law” is hardly qualified to pose as an attorney, which is what that quote accompanying his avatar, I would think, was intended to imply. Or pose as an accountant, or real estate broker, or astronaut, or journeyman plumber. Or to include alumnus of UNC in one’s profile.

Anyhow, whatever the reason, happy days. I wish the NBA league pass free preview week was working in my area. Comcast bites. Tonight’s game would have been great!

Missing Procton

On the Charlotte Observer’s website, I used to see him comment, but I haven’t seen him there even. Although it used to be a lot easier to sift through about only 15 comments as opposed to now where there’s 6 pages of comments.
