Open Gameday Thread Charlotte Bobcats at Golden State Warriors

Charlotte Bobcats at Golden State Warriors, Jan 29, 2010 10:30 PM EST

TV: SportSouth | Radio: 610 AM
SB Nation Warriors Blog: Golden State of Mind

This whole 10:30pm start time thing is driving me crazy. I can't imagine what the players must go through, especially if their coaches are insistent about 10am shootarounds.

I plan on being here

at least off and on. The game will be on, but I have a writing gig I have to devote some time to as well.

Will I be here?

Will I watch the game? Will I be in the open game thread? Do I have a paper due on a Saturday? Stay and find out! These questions and more will be answered shortly! Or not.

Veetle works and appears safe.

but, the TV crew is Golden State. So I will use the NBA.com radio audio.

Neither team is running plays

I hope the Cats slow the pace down and stretch out this lead.

Hmmmmm

If there is such a thing as a Point Forward (ie Larry Johnson, Anthony Mason, Boris Diaw)
Why isn’t there such a thing as a Power Guard?

by andrewlail76 on Jan 29, 2010 11:16 PM EST reply actions

How would you define a Power Guard?

One who is a bit big(muscular) for a PG…but short and able to post up another guard with ease?

by andrewlail76 on Jan 29, 2010 11:24 PM EST up reply actions

yeah

Most all games are on Fox Sports South or Fox Sports Carolinas

There's boxing on my fox sports south channel

I like boxing all right except not during cats games

because

It partly goes back to the fact that we have like the worse TV deal in the history of sports.

They black out the game on some Fox Sports Channels for some reason. Yes. In the very same state the Bobcats play in, some regions are blacked out.

dang

I see most all the games on sport south or fox sports carolinas…

Who would be a better 13 man on our roster?

so the point is moot. This is how I win every debate

Interesting comments about DJ's confidence earlier in the season

There's a phone crew coming into the Cable Box on Monday

They’re gonna install a phone booth so RayRay can change into his Superman tights at the start of the 4th quarter each night.

I stopped cringing for Felton, but started for DJ

I’m feeling good about both of them now. Though I still cringe when DJ’s in the paint!

I remember in a fanpost a long time ago we asked who we should give the ball to in the clutch. I think we said something like “Raymond has a better shot at winning the game by tripping on him untied shoelaces and then accidently heaving the ball in the direction of the hoop”

Ray was an AWFUL finisher early in the season.

He would charge in against the 7 footers and just bounce back out with nothing. He got blocked more often than anyone. He’s so much better at finessing his way around the giants now that he is DEFINITELY our go-to option as the game winds down. Now, when he takes over, he gets it done about 80% of the time.
No doubt in my mind he’s the most improved Bobcats player of the year – although Nazr has come quite a way as well.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 29, 2010 11:59 PM EST up reply actions

Evenin' y'all!

I’ve been watching, but have been needing to do other things on the computer.
Decent game but there is no way the dubs should be hanging in this tough.
LB is serving up some hell in the locker room as I type this. Guarantee.
My bride and I HOWLED when LB said Stephen Curry got it all from his mom!
DJ is picking up a lot of the slack tonight.
And apparently it’s ok for Martin to needle Del all night about his son as long as Del doesn’t say anything about him.

I heard a rumor Chandler will be back when we get home to Charlotte.

I hope he shook off some of his laziness while he was off.

He’s become a professional loafer.
I heard he was born by Caesarian Section. He was so lazy he just sat around in there until they finally came in and pulled him out!

Hopefully he’s learned a bit about Jack’s game.

by andrewlail76 on Jan 30, 2010 12:11 AM EST up reply actions

Yeah you didn't see him?

He’s over there drooling on Acie’s shoulder.

by maverick24 on Jan 30, 2010 12:15 AM EST up reply actions

He's lost his shooting touch.

He has dishpan hand rashes from washing the team uniforms after every game. He’ll need to heal up.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:16 AM EST up reply actions

he needs PT so bad...

at this point I wish it would even be in the D league

He’s just got so much rust

by andrewlail76 on Jan 30, 2010 12:15 AM EST up reply actions

Honestly?

I think the bigger problem is that we’re allowing GS to play their tempo. We haven’t taken them out of their gameplan at all. We need to shake them out of their flow and rhythm or we’re going to be scrambling hard in the 4th.

We should take this one and then have a fairly easy time in Sacramento as well. Let’s get our guaranteed .500 for the road trip early so when we steal the win from the Lakers to finish it off, it’ll be gravy.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:14 AM EST up reply actions

was a crap no-call on that break.

by maverick24 on Jan 30, 2010 12:16 AM EST up reply actions

GS needs to change the team name.

They’ve clanked it off the rim so much this quarter they should be called the Golden State Bricklayers.

I think it's a stunned silence.

They’re all sitting there in shock and trying to remember why the hell they were so excited at “dumping” him off on us in return for great players like VladRad and Raja.

Remember all the dubs fans that crashed ROF to tell us how we got taken and we’d find out soon enough what a bad trade we’d made? Wonder where they are now?

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:37 AM EST up reply actions

Idk if you noticed

but they’re all smoking due to the amount of love making going on between Jack and the basket.

by maverick24 on Jan 30, 2010 12:34 AM EST up reply actions

LB actually tried to put G Hen in 3 minutes ago.

The trainer just finished brushing off the cobwebs and is now breaking out the Rustoleum.

He should be in soon.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:44 AM EST up reply actions

LOL

Yeah, and a little Mystery Oil.
I’m gonna start calling him the Tin Man because you can hear him on the bench saying, “oil can…. OIL CNNN” outta the side of his mouth.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:46 AM EST up reply actions

by maverick24 on Jan 30, 2010 12:41 AM EST up reply actions

Did y'all see Maggette?

He just shoved Predator to the floor with both hands in the back.

There’s not much time left, but you can bet the ranch Crash is gonna get some payback for that before the clock expires.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:50 AM EST reply actions

How nice.

Wallace just introduced Stephen Curry to the folks sitting in the 3rd row under the hoop.

by Ourdaywillcome on Jan 30, 2010 12:53 AM EST reply actions

And we’re gonna do it in a regular 48 minutes. So much for our nonexistant offense!
