Bobcats deal for Jamison in three team trade...
...in this trade scenario i am about to propose.
I know "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." But this trade would bring an All Star PF (among others) to Charlotte, while only dealing one player that has seen any playing time during the Cats' current hot streak.
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5391223
Portland gets: Tyson Chandler, DJ Augustin, Alexis Ajinca
Washington gets: Andre Miller, Acie Law
Charlotte gets: Joel Pryzbilla, Antawn Jamison, Patrick Mills
Why this deal is good for Portland. The Blazers get the big man they have been shopping for to fill in for their season-ending injured centers. Plus, they get rid of their two highest payed players in Andre Miller who is openly feuding with the coach and they unload the contract of Pryzbilla who may (or may not) play another NBA game after his latest knee injury. To replace Miller, POR gets Augustin who may still develop into a NBA starting PG and a 21 year-old project in Ajinca (who is putting up decent numbers in the d-league, btw).
Why this deal is good for Washington. Washington can start cleaning house by dealing Jamison's contract. The Wiz get two PGs to replace suspended PGs Arenas and Crittendon: Andre Miller is a proven vet putting up solid numbers this season & Acie Law has an expiring contract. This trade would save Washington big money next year and in the future.
Why this deal is good for Charlotte. If this trade got done, the Bobcats would add the power forward they have needed -- in this case it would happen to be an All-Star caliber vet in Jamison. Plus they get a PG prospect on Mills to replace Augustin, and in Pryzbilla the Cats may never get him to suit up, rather use him as an expring contract to use as trade bait next season. Jamison could be the best 6th man in the league for now, and maybe replace Boris as the starting PF moving forward as he gets more familiar with LB's system. WIth Jamison added to the roster, the Cats would be signing Felton to a long term deal away from having a competitive line-up in the East on the books for several years into the future.
Critiques? Anybody? What do y'all think? Why won't/can't it get done?

how do Diaw and Jamison get minutes
does Diaw become like a bench leader being very versatille and all
Do the Bobcats make him their sixth man, give him minutes at pointguard, guard, sf, powerforward, and center when playing small ball with Wallace and Jamison
Either Diaw or Jamison as the 6th man bringnig it off the bench.
I can envision Felton, Jackson, Wallace, Jamison, and Diaw all on the court together at times.
No cap relief=not interested
Give us Augustin, let Portland keep Miller and have them send us cap relief instead.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
But nevertheless, this is an interesting concept
Jamison in Charlotte makes sense. I just wish Charlotte had more expiring deals to send back.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
How about this one?

Is that enough cap relief to interest you?
Uh, no that's way worse
Chandler provides no immediate cap relief (2011 cap relief isn’t much) and Blatche is the one bargain on this team.
Here’s what I’m thinking:

With Charlotte throwing in a top-10 protected first as well.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Even then, Portland probably says no
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Maybe a Chandler for Jamison trade makes sense
Next year at the trade deadline if he’s still a Wizzard? Not sure the Bobcats have the right parts this year. Facilitating a major trade would just about require a 3rd team willing to ship out expiring contracts in return for Diaw, Jackson or Chandler. I’m not sure that team exists.
A Good Trade
I Hope The Bobcats Can Get The Trade Done? Jamison Would be At Home Where He Belongs.
i think it works...
but when you are rolling, I say do nothing and keep it the way it is
LETS GO RANGERS!!!! SECTION 405!!!!!
as a portland fan
this trade makes little sense.. we get rid of Miller and Billa and gets another point guard (we dont need) and Chandler who plays hard about 2 percent of the time..Pritchard would never accept this
Thanks for the feed back
The Portland end of the deal would mainly just be to unload Miller and Billa and their contracts. Chandler could be dealt again next year after he is used to take up space in the middle this season in a playoff run — something that Billa and (probably not) Oden will be able to do, due to injuries.
Ajinca has become valuable as of late
I am not sure Larry Brown would want to let him go.

As the season reaches the All Star break...
I’d like to see some real talk about bringing Ajinca back for the second half of the season. I’d also like Gerald Henderson go to the D league for about a month to play as a starter and if that happened, could we bring him back about April 1st?
I just want to see him after a month of getting to start on a team and clearing some rust off and gaining some NBA confidence

I dont think duckyou was quite emphatic enough
Pryz is beloved here in portland, transitioning us from the jailblazer era even more than Brandon Roy. He is also the best back-up center in the league, at one point Oden and Pryz were 1 and 2 at rebounding rate. Miller has finally started getting used to the team since that feud and just came off a 52 point career high (37 previously) so its possibly he will be traded, but at a sell high rate.
What we need most is a semi-capable big body that can play 3rd- string/ injury protection next year. Ajinca sounds like he could fit the bill. I’m not against a swap with Patty Mills, if only since he wont get any run here for a while. I wouldnt mind watching him go off Channing Frye style.
Portland could coast along with their superior talent and stay right with us. Now that Portland woke up, the hammer cometh down.
