Trade Raja Bell for Azubuike and Belinelli?
(From the FanPosts)
Just thought I'd pass this along....I like it for the Cats
RUMOR: Warriors and Bobcats discussing Kelenna Azubuike and Marco Belinelli for Raja Bell

Note: The original post here was directly copy-pasted from a post on Golden State of Mind, and I did a bad job of not noticing that. DO NOT copy other people's work verbatim. That is plagiarism. If you want to post a snippet and a link, that's cool, but copying enough of another person's work that there's no point reading the original is out of bounds, and if I see it, I'll cut it. Cool? Cool.

For the Bobcats, I do this in a heartbeat. It’s not that Raja’s not valuable—he is, because of his 5.25 million dollar expiring contract—but that his contract isn’t as valuable to us as it is to other teams. We’re already out of the running for free agents in 2010/11, so we may as well trade that asset for young, cheap, talent.

THIS.
I LOVE what Azubuike brings to the table, and he actually played all five positions for GS last season (!!!) I’m less enthused with what Belinelli has to offer, but it’s never hurt anybody to have a solid shooter off the bench.
Add that in to the fact that Bell seems to be slumping on defense (see Crawford, Jamal) and really offers nothing but three-point shooting, and I don’t see how this could be anything but a good trade for us.

I agree.....
I would really like this trade… Azubuike is a great rebounder and can give you around 10 to 15 points a night and can occasionally drop a 25 spot. Bellinelli is all that great but did show signs of being a solid player when he started for jamal crawford when he got hurt…. He could be a viable option off the bench. I wish golden state will do this!
Agreed
Azubuike would be a positive addition. Belinelli might or might not have value but would be worth acquiring just for the hell of it. Raja’s not part of the long-term plan and though he certainly contributed in his time here and will be fondly remembered, if they can get younger and more athletic in a hurry they ought to go for it. On the Warriors blog there are suggestions of expanding the trade to include Wallace and Maggette. No no no. Even though Wallace may spend his entire career fighting one injury born of reckless aggression after another, he’s a unique resource and the very soul of what this team aspires to be. They can’t trade him any more than the Yanks could have traded Paul O’Neill.

I was very interested when I saw this
Im also a GSW fan in addition to the Cats. Looking at this trade, it would definitely be in charlotte’s favor, but I like it for both teams. Azabukie is definitely underrated in this league. The guy can play a 2 or a 3, has a pretty consistent outside shot, but also has the handles and quickness to get to the rim. He’s also very strong, so the guy can finish too. He is also a great rebounder for his size, especially on the offensive glass.
Marco is another underrated talent. He was actually playing pretty well last year until he got hurt, and after that it was hard to get off the end of the bench with Nelson. With Marco I feel like you know what your going to get. He’s not going to be a star, but he’s a guy who can bring the ball up, who has a great shooting touch, will surprise you with his court vision and really tries to play some tough D. I can see why Brown likes both of these guys, and while Bell’s expiring contract is nice to have, I much rather trade that away for some young, inexpensive and potentially very productive talent.
If Jordon can pull this off
It would be the perfect pre-move before becoming the main owner. Shows he knows what hes doing and how to run a franchise
you people amaze me!
DJ AUGUSTINE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN PICKED. WE NEEDED A BIG MAN. WE HAD A VERY GOOD GUARD IN RAYMOND FELTON. FROM HIS FIRST YEAR HEAR HE HAS GOTTEN THE SHORT END OF THE STICK. HE WAS THE BACKUP. WHEN HE CLEARLY WAS BETTER THEN WHEN HE GOT HIS CHANCHE TO START WHAT DID HE DO GET THREE STRAIGHT ROOKIE OF THE MONTH AWARDS. DJ AUGUSTINE IS A GUN AND A LIABILITY ON D IS TO SLIGHT AND FELTON WAS CLEARLY THE BETTER PLAYER LAST YEAR. AJENCE THE BIG MAN WAS A DUMB PICK LAST YEAR HE CLEARLIS NOTHING MORE THAN A D LEAGUE PLAYER. WE TO GET RAHEED WALLACE OR BRANDON BASS. EMEKA OKAFUR IS LIMITED OFFENSIVELY. ASK YOUR SELF WHO PUT UP THE BEST NUMBERS THE LAST FIVE GAMES OF THE YEAR. IT WAS RAYMOND FELTON. I THINK HE SHOULD GO BECAUSE THE ORGANAZATION CLEARLY HAS DONE HIM WRONG.
Stop yelling, bro.
As to your post, though, we didn’t have another PG on the roster at all behind Felton, and Lopez couldn’t play alongside Okafor, who’s here long term. As for Felton’s short stick, he was never a better PG than Brevin Knight in any way. Better scorer? Sure. Better defender? Fine. But when it comes to running an offense and setting up teammates, he still doesn’t offer what Knight does. And how exactly are we ever going to know about Okafor’s “offensive limits” if he never gets a chance to average even 12 shots a game? And as for Felton being the team MVP after we had burned out and were playing for nothing? Whoop-de-fucking-doo.
