I'm guest GM-ing the Bobcats. Which trades would you do?
Or, alternately, which might the team actually consider? I've got the following agreed to:
Raja Bell
Ajinca
$3 million
#12
for
Rip Hamilton
#15
And (maybe) a first rounder for next year
I've also got:
Gerald Wallace
D.J. Augustine
#12
for
Jamal Crawford
Brandan Wright
C.J. Watson
#7
If this were to come through I'd try to move the #7 for a lower pick and a backup SG or SF.
I've also been offered the #8 for Ajinca and the #12, although that interests me less, as I don't think the dropoff between those picks will be enormous.
I'm still hoping the following trade comes through, as I consider it a better fit:
Raja Bell
Ajinca
$3 million
#12
Kirk Hinrich
#14
Would welcome your thoughts.

Hadn't noticed Felton commitment
Am trying to pull Augustin out of that Crawford trade in exchange for dropping Watson, maybe adding #40 or cash…
We're not exactly committed.
We haven’t even made the RFA tender offer yet.

A few problems with these
Big No-No on the second one, why give up two of our best players for a guy who may hit the market this season. Even if we were to sub Felton with Augustin, its still to much for Crawford who is way to hot and cold
On the Bulls trade, they dont own the 14th pick, they own the 16. I wouldnt have a problem with that one though. Trade down a few spots to add a stud in Kirk, it makes sense
The first one is not allowable under the CBA, so that’s out. If we could do it, we’re more likely than any other team to take on Hamilton’s deal because our management, apparently, doesn’t care about financial ramifications when seeking out short term success, even though the franchise is hemorraging cash. The fourth trade is also out, because the salaries don’t match.
The Wallace/Augustin trade would be this franchise’s darkest day, since we’d be giving up the two best, most valuable, players in that deal.

And outside of that, DET would never go for it...
They’re not giving up an All Star for an aging guard whose skills are in decline and a project player who could just as easily never turn out as be even a decent rotation player. Maybe if we were the only one sending a pick, but I still doubt it.

A couple thoughts...
CJ Watson actually got his start here for our summer league team and training camp, and we let him go. I don’t think that was when Brown was here, but most of the front office was.
I don’t think you trade up to #8 until draft night and unless you are trying to get a specific player you’re pretty sure will be gone otherwise.
I like the last trade ok, but you’d have to wonder if the Bulls are willing to give up a good player to get two guys who won’t get off their bench, even if they do get out from under a big contract.

DET and CHI trades
Both are being done to create cap space after next season, as both Bell and Ajinca expire. Their GMs have agreed in principle to the deal. And I don’t think RealGM takes the cash into account. Or does that not matter?
Looks like no one here really likes the Crawford deal, so I’ll skip that, although I might be able to turn the 7 into Hinrich more easily than the 12.
Although I should probably add
that the deal is now Crawford, Davidson and the 7 for Wallace and the 12. I was considering adding a 2010 first-rounder to swap Davidson for Wright.
TERRIBLE.
Davidson’s already sucked here, and trading the most important player on the team doesn’t help us.
