There Is No Bobcats Bandwagon - It's A Locomotive
After that emotional win last night--and soaking in the sheer satisfaction of a well deserved win--the Bobcats go to Boston to take on the Celtics.
Look at Gerald above. He's telling you to come on board the train, it's the choo choo, ride it, and Raymond's about to tell the other side of the room. Really, this is a no brainer. All aboard. Get your uncles, aunts, mama, papa, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and acquaintances.
One of the things I've been thinking about a lot is the notion that the Bobcats don't have a bandwagon. Seriously. There is no bandwagon. There are fans out there, but not enough that we could call Bobcats fandom a cultural marker.
If you grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, in the early 2000s and you became a Lakers fan because the Lakers were awesome, you jumped on the bandwagon and were a frontrunner. Maybe you'll stick with them through thick and thin, but there's no denying that you were a frontrunner. That simply doesn't exist with the Bobcats. Nobody chooses the Bobcats because rooting for the Cats equates to rooting for success or glamor.

The Celtics are without Kevin Garnett, but, great as he was and is, he hasn't been himself this year, and Boston is still a challenging team without him. And yes, that's even without Leon Powe or (gulp) Brian Scalabrine to pick up KG's slack. Big Baby and Mikki Moore are perfectly acceptable replacements until the regular season ends.
All that said, the Bobcats just overcame the more difficult hurdle in this back to back by beating the Lakers. Nothing is gravy at this point; they're still plowing through meat and potatoes. I'm going to run out of proper analogies to explain that every game is a must win from here on out.
CHOO! CHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Welcome
Happy to see you on the bandwagon after ripping the managing partner and the roster changes all season.
However,
to be fair a lot of that was concern over the long-term health of the franchise.

Hi. Welcome.
Making the playoffs will be fun. But always, just under the surface, is the dirty little secret that this team is so locked in to its contracts that if everything breaks right, the best we’ll do is the six seed until at least after 2012. That’s not sound management. It’s what I’ve ripped management for, and I’ve been consistent about it. As the Bobcats make a playoff run, though, I’ve seen less of a point to harping on how we’re seeing this short term success at the future’s expense. If you want to explain your thoughts on why we should have reason to be optimistic about the future, examine the contracts and write a FanPost.

C'mon now
Arnott has been running this website since the beginning. He takes the time to write up thoughts and opinions all based around the cats. He does all of this and sometimes people dont even respond. I know I constantly read what he writes but dont always post a comment. Has he questioned the Cat’s management? Yes. Has he question the Cats trade acquisitions? Yes. But what true fan doesnt? A true fan doesnt just follow the team blindly…we’ve somehow developed this kind of intagible relationship with this franchise and care about the things it says and does. We want it to be strong, healthy, and most importantly successful. And we’re all going to have our opinions on the best way to get there. Bandwagoner he is not. Arnott has been leading the way along with the few good fans there are.
Anyways…great win last night. Love the fact they beat those damn lakers…now I got something to hold over my brothers head when the timing’s right. Hopefully we can come out with enough energy tonight against a tough Boston club to keep ourselves in the game and give ourselves a chance to win…..lets go cats
Bobcat's clawing their way
OK, I’ll admit it… I’ve been digging thru the drawers looking for the Cat wear that was given to me over the last few Christmas’…some of it I had to clip the tags.
A let bit of ‘get back’ for GW, the last time he saw the Lakers was from the floor of the Staples center with a collapsed lung and cracked ribs!
