[Raymond] Felton turned down a long-term contract from the Bobcats that would have paid him about $7million a season.
Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer drops this interesting factual nugget in a larger piece about why it makes sense for the Charlotte Bobcats to keep both Raymond Felton and D.J. Augustin.

Old news.
He turned down Marvin Williams’ deal.
Remember when the Panthers had a good offensive line? Yeah, me too.

Thank You Felton
For saving the Bobcats from themselves. You probably will regret passing on this deal next year when you have to sign for less to be a backup somewhere else. But at least you won’t be playing on a team full of overpaid bench talent with no hope of cap space for a very long time.
Paying top dollar for marginal talent is no way to build a winner. Let’s hope the team gets sold this year so the rebuilding can begin.
