The Prediction Thread
It's time to put your internet-based prognostication reputations on the line. I'm already on record projecting the Bobcats' record at 37-45, but let's go a little bit further.
Here's what I want from you:
1 -- Predict the Bobcats' final record, and perhaps give a sentence or two of reasoning.
2 -- Who will be the team MVP? What will be his final slash stat line, PTS/REB/AST? -- The easy pick is Gerald Wallace, as I don't think he's going to enter a decline phase, yet, and he'll probably be his same old self, finishing with his standard 17/7/3 per game, and the same per minute totals we've come to expect. I just don't see Boris Diaw replicating what he did last year, and Tyson Chandler's defense would have to be Dikembe-esque in order to overtake Crash in total value.
3 -- Who will be the league MVP? What will be his final slash stat line, PTS/REB/AST? -- LeBron James makes it two straight, 30/9/9 per game. There will be no survivors in his wake.
4 -- Who will win the NBA Championship? Who will they defeat in the Finals? -- I'm going with the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron is LeBron, but on top of all that, all the additions they've made this year are also actually improvements, whereas the Lakers didn't necessarily improve by adding Ron Artest. The only way the Cavs don't make the Finals is if the Shaq experiment implodes the locker room. On another note, I'm convinced the best bet to win the championship, taking into account the odds Vegas would give you, is the Miami Heat. If Wade is healthy and Michael Beasley gets a full time role, they can beat anyone on any given night.

From a dubs fan
1. 36 wins
2.Easy answer is Wallace but I may say someone who is not there yet. I think you guys will make move.
3.LBJ
4.Cleveland
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
1. 38 wins, sneaking the 8th spot. Chandler stays healthy and the team gels.
2. I’m going to go out on a limb and say… DJ Augustin. 14/2/8. He wins the starting job 1/3rd of the way through the season and goes on a tear.
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Lakers over Celtics.

It's not quite time yet
1. 32 wins along with pressure to get rid of Coach Brown in the media. I predict a maddening number of games lost by less than 3 points. On the plus side, the Cats will emerge as one of the best defensive teams in the NBA led by a top 3 standing in the “points allowed” category.
2. I agree with James the Aussie. DJ is the best kept secret in Charlotte
3. It’ll be Lebron
4. If the starters stay healthy, the Celtics. If not, Cleveland will take it.

Hmmm...
1. 41. I know thats a little high, but I think they can be a 500 team. IF they stay healthy, IF they gel, IF they do what Larry Brown says…yeah, I know, a lot of ifs, but I just think there better this year then people are giving them credit for. Maybe not 41 wins, but I do think they’ll sneak in the playoffs this year at a 7 or 8 seed.
2. Wallace. I think hes actually going to be slightly more productive this year, maybe more like 19.5/6.0/2.0. I think if he steps it up offensively and can add a few extra points per game, the cats offense will go a long way. And I think if Chandler runs the floor more this year, they can add some extra points in transition and maybe get out of last place in points scored a game, but they will certainly stay a defensive minded team.
3. Lebron, even though I don’t want him to be cause hes kind of a cry baby. lol!
4. I’m hopein to see another Celtics VS. Lakers championship, this time with the Celtics coming out victorious in 7 games. I like the Celtics this year, but as with so many other teams this year, their success will depend entirely on there health.
You guys suck!
1. 50 wins. Chandler is good for at least 20 a night on a team like this and will likely play more games than Meka. Chandler was the missing piece to title contention.
2. Raymond Felton. The dude is primed for a breakout year. He’s going 17/9/5 on 45% shooting from the field. He throws in 2.5 steals to boot.
Gilbert Arenas. Guess who’s back? Gilbert’s back. 32/5/4
The Denver Nuggets: Defense takes a break for a year.
So long suckas! Come up with some real predictions
YEAH REAL PREDICTIONS!!!
1. 41 wins. I couldn’t decide if we would win all of the games or none of them so i split the difference but hey, this prediction is just as likely to be right as anyone’s.
2. Is Jake Voskuhl still on the team? Well, he’ll be the team mvp even if he’s not.
3. Primoz Brezec. Stats: 0.2/0.37/0.163902. He’s the heart and soul of the 76ers, and also the passion of Philadelphia as a city.
4. The Bobcats. If I predict them to win it every year, I’ve got to be right eventually so why not guess my favorite team, right?

LMAO
I still have the newspaper poster thing and the special ticket from the inaugural game and my Kapono jersey ready!
*yawn*
My 2 Cents
1. 33 Wins. About the same record as it has been for the last couple of years, except this year may be the first time the Cats finish in 5th place in the SE instead of 4th. Chandler will not stay healthy (sorry to be the pessimistic fan here, hope I’m wrong!).
2. Going out on a limb with DJ. I think the guy is ready to break out, he is incredibly talented. 16/3/6.
3. Probably LBJ again.
4. Orlando Magic. Yeah it’s weird for the NBA runner-up to win it all the next year (like the Lakers just did), but I like the changes they’ve done in Orlando.
I'll Play, Too
1. 28 wins – Losing Okafor and not signing a legit PF for the second off-season in a row are two strikes against this team before the season begins. If Gerald is hurt or traded, things could get really ugly fast.
2. Gerald Wallace is by far the best player as long as he stays relatively healthy. The Cats will depend on him to do even more than ever before now that Okafor is gone so I could see a line of 19/8/3.
3. LeBron – Yawn
4. San Antonio reloaded this year, and I see them knocking off whoever makes it out of the East, probably the Cavs.
1. 49 wins. Cats sweep the Bucks, Kings, and Grizzlies. Finally beat Orlando once this year. Will start the season 10-6. Make the playoffs and are NOT the 8th seed.
2. Gerald Wallace will be the team’s MVP and possibly first All-Star. Both Gerald Henderson and Derrick Brown will receive rookie of the week honors at some point this year.
3. Lebron will be the League MVP and scoring champ.
4. Cavs beat the Bulls and Bobcats in 5, then the Celtics and Lakers in 6 for Lebron’s first crown.
