Bobcats Open Practice!

I'm not like everyone else when it comes to the open practice, I think. My highlights had absolutely nothing to do with the actual play on the floor. In order:

1 -- Shaking hands with both Coach Browns and wishing them luck.

2 -- Running into the Lady Cats near the practice court and chatting with one of them about stuff having nothing to do with basketball.

3 -- I was absolutely faaaaaaaaaaascinated by how tall Alexis Ajinca is, at least two inches taller than DeSagana Diop in shoes. As I told the Official Roommate of Rufus on Fire, this preseason we're finally getting a chance to see the untapped potential the Bobcats brass sees in him. The problem, of course, is that even if he is a freakishly athletic 7'2" small forward who has spot up shooting range and can leap out of the building, that still has to translate into, you know, basketball production at some point. He's not destroying everyone in practice (a la Jermaine O'Neal in his Blazers days), so I'm hesitant to assign any hard meaning to his apparent improvement until the games start. The same caveats apply to Boris Diaw's return to full speed action.

4 -- Seeing my season ticket guy again.

5 -- Ruuuuuuuuuuuufuuuuuuuuuuuuus!!!

6 -- D.J. Augustin will give Eddie House a run for his money in the Most Immaculately Groomed Man race. (In all sports, no one touches Mike Tomlin.)
